Lara and Valkyrie - on the hunt
Dec. 8th, 2018 07:47 pmLara was much less twitchy, this time around at the Inn. Kitty was here, of course, but it was easier to deal with people in general, even if she’d found herself falling into the habit, a bit, of keeping to herself. Even calmer, though, she sometimes needed to get out with her bow and shoot something.
Today, she hunted rabbits in the wooded parts of the mountain foothills. They were small enough and quick enough to be a challenge, and she could carry them back to the Inn kitchens in a knapsack. It felt less wasteful than hunting deer.
Either way, she might have gone a little overboard, having climbed a tree and gone branch to branch above ground to deal death from above to small furry creatures. (It was fun though!)

[Voice Test] Lara and Stephen
Sep. 13th, 2018 03:10 pmThe library was new, since Lara had last been at the Inn. And it was truly fantastic in its variety, literally so; there were books in languages she’d never even seen before! All-new syntax to puzzle out, new patterns of thought... new to her, anyway. Some of the books were quite old.
One such book, on a shelf too high for her to reach conveniently, had words on its spine it was looked intriguingly almost like Mongolian script. Rather than cast about for a stepladder, Lara had simply climbed the shelf, ignoring the just-a-sting-really in her rock-abraded leg. Once she had the book, though, it seemed like a good idea not to jump down. Even if black yoga capris wouldn’t show blood, having to change and maybe explain that she’d reopened wounds because of impatience seemed like a hassle.
So she stayed where she was, considering other ways down that were gentle and wouldn’t force her to abuse the book.

[Lara and Kitty] slow down and talk
Feb. 14th, 2017 07:32 pmLara's room wasn't pink, but that wasn't necessarily a positive. Lara hadn't thought that was possible, until she turned on the lights, and the golden light plus the dark walls made her bed look brighter, a stark gold-white shape dominating the room. There wasn't much other furniture, if she and Kitty wanted to talk it would have to be on the bed.
They'd done it before, of course - the first time on the night they'd arrived, when Kitty had taken care of Lara's wounds and shared some of her secrets. But right now, still a little heated from the bar... it seemed a little dangerous. Kitty Pryde, in her bed.
But she gestured Kitty into the room, welcoming, anyway. If the worst danger was the possibility of ending up naked with a woman who was certainly her best friend in the Inn... that didn't actually feel dangerous.
