[Lara and Kitty] slow down and talk

Lara's room wasn't pink, but that wasn't necessarily a positive. Lara hadn't thought that was possible, until she turned on the lights, and the golden light plus the dark walls made her bed look brighter, a stark gold-white shape dominating the room. There wasn't much other furniture, if she and Kitty wanted to talk it would have to be on the bed.

They'd done it before, of course - the first time on the night they'd arrived, when Kitty had taken care of Lara's wounds and shared some of her secrets. But right now, still a little heated from the bar... it seemed a little dangerous. Kitty Pryde, in her bed.

But she gestured Kitty into the room, welcoming, anyway. If the worst danger was the possibility of ending up naked with a woman who was certainly her best friend in the Inn... that didn't actually feel dangerous.

Kitty thought back on her own life and all the things that had tried to kill her or keep her down. In that light, being afraid of losing a friend because she either did or didn't want to keep making out (or more) with them seemed kind of silly.

"Okay," she said with a laugh. "I see your point. I hope Wyatt feels the same way."

"He will," Lara predicted cheerfully. How could be not? Pretty, smart, strong Kitty. "But even if he doesn't, you're stuck with me somehow."

"If he doesn't," Kitty said and then stole a kiss off Lara's mouth. "You may get me, and he may get the somehow."
